Slowly we are getting over last week and the plants are showing their metal by popping out a few tommies, they are only tiny but there are a couple dotted about so hoping more to report next week.

WHAT A WEEK!!!
Things have started to get interesting in Poole, the weather has been amazing and my plants clearly know that its my birthday today as they have finally shown some initiative and shoot out some tommies… in fact, 10 (TEN!) between them with plenty more to come!
Obviously beginning to perform at the business end of the competition - well done fellas, keep it up! So excited, think I need to lie down (maybe its my age)!

Im hurting, i’m hurting real bad…. The team took a hit this week when they were ravaged by the same tomato hating cat that attacked stewart’s plants. The big boy on the left was the worst affected and we had to take quite a few centimetres off after he got bent double. The figures aren’t a pretty sight, but we are not giving up….. yet!

We’re back on track this week.
After investing in some much needed trellis, the plants are looking very healthy indeed (and sturdy). Just need to have some scorching sunshine to squeeze the tommies out over the next few weeks… although to be honest, the foliage is so thick, we may already have some - we just haven’t found them yet! He he!

Oh yes folk it is that time of the week again and I hope you are all eager to see how things are shaping up. With the summer ‘seeming’ so close you can touch it my London plants are lapping it up and using all of the suns life giving powers to grow mighty.
Still sadly no tomatoes to talk of but there are plenty of flowers now and before next tuesday we are hiring a crane to come and put some girders in the help support these monsterous beasts.
I am pleased to announce that the whole team have worked extremely hard this week and have managed to break the 1metre mark, so well done boys big pat on the back.

This jumble of thick leaves are our tomato plants… the neighbour’s cat jumped from a fence and body slammed (WWE-stylee) one of our massive potato plants, which caused a bit of a domino reaction, thus squashing our beloved tomato plants.
There were some good things to come from such a traumatic experience… our plants have practically stopped growing, but thickened nicely, has also flowered and is ready to shoot out some juicy tommies. And with a bit of luck, the cat swallowed a few slug pellets…

The new single from the Brighton based band Two Spot Gobi was released on Monday - nomar had the pleasure of designing the cover art for this release, and by downloading a copy of the single you get FREE entry to their single launch gig at the Bush Halls, Shepherds Bush tonight. The track can be downloaded from all the usual online record shops including iTunes and Play.com.
Alternatively you can watch the whole gig live from the comfort of your own living room as the band will be streaming the gig on Stickam from 9pm tonight.

If size matters then London is King-Ding-A-Ling, the bizarre English weather of rain or shine does not seem to be having any ill effects on our plants. If anything it is having the opposite effect as they are growing strong and tall, with the “Yellow Yorker” nearly outgrowing the ruler used to measure it - 1 metre here we come!!!
The London plants aren’t as bushy as the Poole contestants but we will find out soon when it comes to producing tommies which is more productive. But I am hoping with both London and Pool flowering it won’t be long before one starts to bear fruit.
Im not sure if Stewart’s plants lack of growth over the last few weeks is a good sign of if they are saving all their energy for the tomatoes.

Despite the slowing growth of ‘the crop’ in Poole, I have reverted to portrait photos!
We’re slightly concerned that the plants are no longer thinking about the competition and have gotten lazy and fat (they just wanna grow out and not up). This could be due to all the rain over the last few weeks, but I’m not so sure. You see, we introduced some late arrivals to the garden a few weeks ago (too late for TT entry date), and they may be catching the eye of my plants and distracting them from the job at hand!
